Spell: Night of Nicnevin Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: Red
Incense of the day: Ginger

Nicnevin, the Scottish crone goddess, rides the skies tonight and tomorrow night between the hours of nine and ten. Can you hear her? Her calls sounds like the wild call of geese. Tonight is a very dangerous time to be caught outside. If she or a member of her fairy troop sees you on the road, you're likely to be swept up and forced to join the "Wild Host," as it's called. Before dark, sprinkle sea salt around the perimeter of your property, and say:

Mother goddess,
keep me safe this night and next,
and mine own this night and next.
At nine o'clock light a gray candle in Nicnevin's honor.
