POSTED UNDER Moon

Spell: The Sound of Silence

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: Coral
Incense of the day: Rose

This evening's New Moon will assist with this exercise, and you may wish to incorporate it into your Dark Moon esbat. Sit in complete darkness, in a comfortable, meditative position. Meditate for as long as you'd like. In the meditation, try to hear the "sound of silence." Bring your ears' attention to the silence around you. Eventually, you will begin to hear a light "hum." This is vibration. Keep your ears focused on this "noise" and nothing else. Focus on it until it takes you over. When this happens, the silent "sound" will seem deafening. When this sensation becomes too overwhelming, snap yourself out of the trance by inhaling loudly, bringing your audile focus elsewhere. This profound act takes time to hone and is difficult to describe. Once you experience the sound of silence, you will know exactly what I mean. Bringing yourself into a meditative state, perhaps before a ritual or spell, immerse yourself in the essence of this vibration. It will help attune you to the now-this reality, this stitch in time.
