Spell: Cooking for Cernunnos

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Celebrate the season by thanking Cernunnos for a bountiful harvest. Go blackberry picking (if you can), otherwise buy blackberries or other fruit. Make one of your favorite fruit recipes, or make a blackberry cordial, cobbler, pudding, jam, or pie.
Set up your kitchen as you would your altar, with a picture or statue of Cernunnos and a green candle that was anointed with patchouli oil. Set the candle in a ring of oak leaves and place a piece of aventurine in front of it. As you cook, think of the energies of Cernunnos - the protection of nature, the flow of the seasons, fertility, and so forth. Picture him in repose in the forest, with animals around him. Feel the energies of physical love, virility, and earthiness flowing through you. Drink a glass of red wine and toast Cernunnos. Pour a glass as libation on the ground outside your kitchen and leave a portion of your food as an offering.
